Earth Worker is a caucus of Australian trade union and environmental organisations' members coming together under the auspices of Victorian Trades Hall Council in the recognition that workers' rights and concern for the environment are a common issue. |
|
The aims and objectives of Earthworker are:
- To promote an open dialogue between trade unions and environmental organisations.
- To encourage the use of environmentally sustainable and socially just principles and techniques amongst Member Organisations and in the wider community.
- To promote and undertake research, education and policy development, in the areas of environmental protection, particularly in relation to industry.
- To support initiatives addressing indigenous people's self determination and sovereignty.
- To promote trade union membership among employees and volunteers of environmental and community organisations
- To network and encourage national and international dialogue and alliances between environment and trade union organisations. |
