100 Days of Resistance in Oaxaca: Clarifying in Order to Move Forward |
by Alberto Hijar Previously published: Narconews.com |

Brutal, forced globalization and the downfall of Soviet and European socialism demand the deconstruction of historical power blocs. In Mexico, the defeat of the Institutional Revolution Party (PRI in its Spanish initials) forms part of the corporately legitimized political and economic liquidation of the so-called welfare state. The Party of the Democratic Revolution’s (PRD’s) losses, like those of the rest of the Euro-communist nationalist and statist socialist leftist parties, are not absolute. Rather, they are socially maintained by the hope of winning the Presidency accompanied by corresponding parliamentarian, state, and municipal representation, where grassroots social organizations faced with unprincipled political backdoor maneuvering don’t fit. |

Against the class injustice: Direct actions and solidarity!! |
by I.W.A. Secretariat Previously published: iwa-ait.org |

When approaching the First of May 2006, we see that the capitalist powers are hunting every part of the globe for increased profits and market control. The capitalists want to “liberate” themselves from obligations towards decent work conditions, payment and social “wages” as pensions. But in 2006, 120 years after the fight for the 8th hour day in Chicago, we must not forget that capitalist development not only creates oppression, but also revolt! |

Appeal by the Strike Committee at Budryk Mine |
by ZSP Warsaw Previously published: cia.bzzz.net |
03 Jan 2008
|
Dear Fellow Workers and Comrades,
We would like to publish an appeal from the Strike Committee of the Budryk Mine.
The miners have been on strike since December 17th and have been spending their holidays in an occupation of the mine, often accompanied by family and friends. The situation in a nutshell is that, even though the mine is quite profitable and output per worker is twice the average in Poland, the wages there are the lowest in the industry. When the state decided that they wanted to merge this mine, which is state-owned, with the JSW group of mines, also state-owned, the workers where again reminded that their wages are lower than in the rest of JSW mines. They want to receive equal wages like the workers in the JSW mines.
The Board doesn’t want to negotiate with them. The situation has been going on for months. Now that the workers are on strike, they are not entitled to wages, so their families are being hit hard – not a nice present for the holidays. The strikers feel that the Board is intent on breaking the strike economically, therefore the Strike Committee decided to appeal for help.
Please spread this appeal. If you need any more information, would like to translate a solidarity letter into Polish or need help understanding the bank details, please contact warsaw (at) zsp.net.pl. Please put BUDRYK in the subject line.

On Saturday, August at 11, 12pm EST, the Providence Industrial Workers of the World (IWW) organized a march on Jackie's Galaxy, which is a restaurant chain that is being supplied by HWH in New York City, a supplier who is notorious for its slave labor conditions of up to 110 hours per week without basic labor rights (minimum wage and overtime). A few blocks before finishing the march North Providence police brutally tackled two of the marches after they moved to the sidewalk too slowly, both were arrested and one suffered a badly broken leg in the attack. |
