Claremont Solidarity: Open Meeting |

Since March 1,2010 the dining hall workers at Pomona College have been engaged in a struggle with the administration to establish an independent union on campus. Since going public a month and a half ago with the support of 90% of the workforce, the workers have held rallies with hundreds of students, won a public debate with the vice president of the College, staged break-time walkouts and continued to organize in the dining halls. In an effort both to bring more diversity and engage more potential allies to the efforts to organize students and pressure the administration, and to prepare a strong foundation for summer organizing, when most students will be gone, Claremont Solidarity is announcing a new anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian organizing initiative in. |

1912 was the high-point of Rudolf Rocker's influence in the UK, with thousands of Jewish workers in East London's sweatshops taking on their exploiters and winning. The strikers linked up with the dockers strike close by in London. The same year saw the biggest miners' strike ever in the UK. |

Stop SKANSKA Exploitation |

The international committee of the SAC calls out for international solidarity, to protest against the Swedish company SKANSKA, “the Swedish tiger”. To break the instable working situation of the workers of the world and to fight against the hiring of companies that collaborates with SKANSKA and enslaves undocumented workers. “No to subcontractors, yes to permanent employment”, and “Without paper, without salary with Skanska” are two campaigns that come together and we call it “the Swedish tiger”, referring to an autonomous book with the same name that denounce the inhumane crimes that the owners of Swedish companies commit in the name of the capital.
We call out to show solidarity with these campaigns. |

Iran: A Call for the International Campaign to Free May Day Detainees |

Workers and labour organizations in Iran and all over the world!
On May First, the International Workers’ Day, many workers and their families assembled in Laleh Park of Tehran in response to the May Day Organizing Committee (consisting of independent labour organizations in Iran). People gathered to present their demands and to commemorate the May Day; however, they as well as other visitors of the park were violently attacked by the security-intelligence forces and plain-clothes agents. These forces used all kinds of tools and equipments to assault people, as the result of which many got severely injured and more than 150 people while being beaten were taken to custody. At this time, about 100 of the above are still incarcerated. |
