Bus drivers in Barcelona have called a strike for 21-24 December and 2-4
January, demanding a second day of leave per week. Currently, bus
drivers have to work six days a week. Workers with the
anarcho-syndicalist union, Confederacion General de Treball (CGT) agreed
to go on strike to press their demands against the owner, TMB, allowing
only minimum services needed to connect neighborhoods without other
transportation options. |

Belgrade Six Formally Indicted, To be Kept in Remand |
|
by Admin |
18 Dec 2009
|
The six Serbian anarcho-syndicalists fitted up on charges of international terrorism following a Molotov cocktail attack claimed by a different organisation have now been formally indicted.
On December 7, the Belgrade six were formally indicted for international terrorism by a Belgrade court. The Court ordered that they be kept in custody until their trial begins. This should be in the spring at the earliest.
In the meanwhile, the press has started to print information saying that the six admitted to the actions, claiming they were for international solidarity. Members of ASI have denied any relation to the act. However some Serbian press reports, stating no sources for information, that Dojkic and Vulovic "checked to see that nobody was around" before throwing Molotov cocktails. It is curious where the press received this information and shows again how the state is trying to build their case against ASI members and use the media to show them as guilty before the trial.
The IWA and other supporters of the six are calling for an intensified solidarity campaign.

Indictment for Terrorism against Anarchists - a Political Trial
On November 3, 2009 , the supposed throwing of two burning beer bottles at the Greek embassy was qualified by the Public Prosecutor's office as a crime from the list of the most serious offenses. Six proved antifascists are thus being accused of no more and no less than international terrorism! A group for monitoring the trial against the six anarchists has initiated a petition, collecting signatures under an open letter that aims to bring to public attention the fact that what we are faced with is a political trial. The text of the letter has been supported by numerous intellectuals. |

FF Mercantil runs a sweatshop in Araxa, Brazil. It produces football shoes, uniforms, clothing and other accessories for the Lotto and Finta brands. The working conditions are poor - long hours and work weeks, excessive heat, fumes from glue, insufficient pay. The workers began to organize themselves. That is when the repression began. |

100 Days of Resistance in Oaxaca: Clarifying in Order to Move Forward |

Brutal, forced globalization and the downfall of Soviet and European socialism demand the deconstruction of historical power blocs. In Mexico, the defeat of the Institutional Revolution Party (PRI in its Spanish initials) forms part of the corporately legitimized political and economic liquidation of the so-called welfare state. The Party of the Democratic Revolution’s (PRD’s) losses, like those of the rest of the Euro-communist nationalist and statist socialist leftist parties, are not absolute. Rather, they are socially maintained by the hope of winning the Presidency accompanied by corresponding parliamentarian, state, and municipal representation, where grassroots social organizations faced with unprincipled political backdoor maneuvering don’t fit. |
