By the Strength of Our Own Power We Will Form a Workers Organization!

The right to have any kind of worker's organization for the world's workers is the most obvious and basic right. Founding statement of the Coordinating Committee to Form a Workers Organization in Iran

The right to have any kind of worker's organization for the world's workers is the most obvious and basic right. Workers in today's world form their own organization without permission from governments. Governments only have taken the responsiblity to register these organizations and if they deny registration, still these formations have right to organize and be active.

Despite the fact that the Iranian government accepted the International Labour Organization's(ILO) protocols 87 and 98 they have not only not practised them but also with all its power, marshals all of its troops against workers claims.

Today, workers in this corner of the world are deprived of independent or free organization. They are put on trial for May Day celebrations. They are killed in Khaton Abad for work claims and job security. They are forced to accept the standards of 20 years ago just for survival. Just for having a part time job workers are obliged to sign a blank piece of paper unconditionally.

Double exploition of women with one third of the approved minimum wage is continuous. Children, instead of getting education and living their lives, have been exploited in underground factories and they also have been secretly enslaved in certain places.

Workers!

We must organize against poverty, hunger, and lawlessness. We, however, do not want to request for workers to be organized by any government or any organization. Organization is our right. We will form it with our own power and then we will ask the government to recognize it.

Since the Islamic Republic's Government signed the ILO's protocol 87, the licensing by the government for workers organization should be very obvious and indisputable. Because the ILO created these protocols and made these governments sign it, it is their duty to confront and make the Islamic Republic Government to agree with what they signed, and end the silencing of active workers. Also the Islamic Republic of Iran has to secure the worker's activity.

And Now to Our Honorable Supporters!

Based on our common class interest, supporting the Iranian workers is the duty of all respectable people around the world. The Iranian workers lost everything because of capitalism's attack after attack. We ask worker activists, unions, federations, and pro workers to support us.
